Sand mandala
Sacred Sand Mandala (Peace Mandala)
Multi-day residency: opening blessings through daily creation to dissolution and Walk for Peace.
What it is
A Peace Mandala is built grain by grain, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM each day — a training in the qualities of a peacemaker: patience, care, concentration, humility, and compassion.
Opening: opening blessings, protector prayers, introductory remarks, Lama Dance, Sacred Music, and the start of the mandala.
Daily: public viewing during construction.
Final day (late afternoon): Closing Ceremony, Mandala Dissolution, and Walk for Peace; blessed sand is offered to a local waterway.
Mandala deity options: Green Tara · Chenrezig · Medicine Buddha · Manjushri.
